| Bio: | ((Chaos Unraveled RPG character)) Character Name: Kamina What world he came from: Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann Birthday: Unknown Age: Unknown Species: Human Occupation: Revolutionary; leader of anti-Beastmen faction "Dai-Gurren Brigade" Appearance: Standing just under six feet tall (approximated, no concrete numbers exist), Kamina has a muscularly lean, even wiry build. His upper-torso seems to be covered with abstract tattos or body-art, dark blue whirls and jagged curves swirling around his arms and shoulders. These are generally prominently visible, as the most Kamina ever seems to wear on his upper-body is a voluminous scarlet cloak with a high collar and a characteristic emblem proudly displayed on the back--a stylistic flaming skull wearing a pair of exaggeratedly pointy black shades. Kamina is often seen sporting a similar pair of shades, albeit bright red in color and partially veiled by his unruly azure hair. Seldom is he seen with anything less than a confident smirk on his face, if not an outright arrogant grin. Special abilities/talents: Kamina is adept with small firearms and a battle-worn nodachi (Japanese-style long sword) he carries at all times. He is also a skilled, if self-taught mecha pilot. Kamina's ability to adapt to a given situation is remarkable, and possibly his greatest strength; his plans are rarely well-thought-out, but for some strange reason they seem to work most of the time, regardless. In addition to this, he possesses an inherent ability known as 'Spiral Energy'--though he himself is not familiar with this term for it; it is described as "the power of evolution" (courtesy of Wikipedia), and seems driven by an individual's immediate will to survive and persevere--thus, it often displays its greatest effects when the individual is under great stress or in significant danger. Spiral energy has theoretically infinite applications, and has been known to regenerate and even grow new parts on machines, and even create tunnels through space and time (though such a feat would likely require the Spiral Energy of several individuals with intense will to survive). In his new environs, this unconscious use of Spiral Energy permits Kamina to temporarily summon a powerful but short-lived "phantom" duplicate of his preferred (and self-named) mecha, Gurren-Lagann. While he cannot manifest the mecha for very long at a time, the ability is useful for performing brief, powerful attacks when severely threatened. Quirks: Kamina is best known for his tendency to point one upraised finger to the heavens and utter dramatic and (supposedly) inspirational speeches, to defy and intimidate his enemies and rally his friends and allies. The success rate of this is somewhat hit and miss, as often his logic is tenuous if not outright dodgy, but his heart's in the right place. Kamina is also well-known for his personal catch phrase--"Who the hell do you think I am?!" Personality: "Possessing a seemingly arrogant personality, Kamina is very passionate about his goals and will reach for them without a trace of fear, hesitation, or sense." (from Wikipedia) Determined to a fault, Kamina is not willing to let such petty things as logic, reason or fear stand in his way. He firmly believes in "going beyond the impossible and kicking reason to the curb". Often this leads those around him, enemy and ally alike, to find him flakey if not outright strange, but somehow his determination generally allows him to headbutt his way to something not entirely unlike success. He tends to butt heads with more rigidly-minded people, especially those who would hold others back or crush the ideals of others underfoot. In contrast, he tends to be supportive of those whose fears and insecurities keep them down, encouraging them through his own prominent example to stand up and be all they could possibly be. He won't waste time with someone who's unwilling to help themselves despite his efforts, but he'll stand by someone like a sibling if his words seem to have any impact on them at all. Reputation: Kamina tends to leave mixed impressions on those in his wake. Initially he often comes off as flakey or downright strange, but those who came to know him came to realize that beneath the bold speeches and bizarre tactics is a stalwart ally and, ultimately, a good person. In fact, many of his previous companions were so inspired by his example that they continued to display his emblem and carry the name of his self-created Gurren Brigade long after his death, frequently imitating his finger-raised-to-the-heavens posture and even often borrowing and paraphrasing his iconic "Who the hell do you think I am?!" phrase. Whether a bizarre opponent, a beloved brother, a curious friend or a noble hero, Kamina seems destined to make some impression upon those in the path of his ballistic-missile personality. | |||||||||
